Meet our Team

The International Council of Women (ICW-CIF) elects its Board members and its Standing Committee members—our Advisors and Coordinators—who collectively guide and advance our global mission. At the 37th General Assembly in Marrakech, the ICW-CIF Board for the 2025–2028 term was elected to lead the organization with renewed vision and commitment.

Our Representatives to the United Nations and other international organizations are appointed on an triennal basis. They ensure that ICW-CIF’s priorities and expertise are heard at the highest levels of global governance.

ICW-CIF maintains accredited representation in major UN bodies and agencies, including:
UN New York, UN Geneva, UN Vienna, UNESCO, UNICEF, FAO, ESCAP, UNIDO, UN-Habitat and UNECE.

Our Board Members

Meet our board elected members for the 2025-2028 term.

Our Standing Committee

ICW currently counts 25 Standing Committee Coordinators and Advisors who drive our policy influence by shaping action plans and ensuring the flow of strategic information across our global network. Their work supports ICW members on key priorities such as eliminating discrimination and gender-based violence, promoting equal rights and opportunities, securing access to healthcare and social protection, strengthening support for children and families, advancing education, and addressing environmental challenges.

To fulfil their mission, Advisors and Coordinators collect and analyse data from affiliated National Councils of Women. This information enables them to report effectively to ICW-CIF leadership and to support our Permanent Representatives at the United Nations in their advocacy and policy engagement.

Representatives to the UN

Permanent Representatives act as the advocacy arm of the International Council of Women (ICW-CIF) within the United Nations system and other bodies where ICW holds consultative status.

They engage in key institutional meetings, bringing forward ICW’s priorities and positioning the organization as a strong voice for women’s rights and gender equality. Their statements and interventions reflect ICW’s objectives and policy commitments, ensuring that the concerns of women and girls are integrated into global decision-making processes.

Permanent Representatives maintain a continuous flow of strategic information with the Standing Committees, affiliated National Councils, and the Board, reinforcing coherence across ICW’s advocacy efforts. They also collaborate with like-minded NGOs to build alliances, amplify shared messages, and strengthen the collective impact of civil society within international forums.
