Membership Categories
At the International Council of Women, every member – from national councils to engaged individuals – plays a vital role in driving global progress for women and shaping a more equal future.
National Councils of Women
These are the official women’s councils:
- They are composed by national associations.
- Only one Council in a country.
- They hold voting rights at General Assemblies.
- They may nominate candidates for ICW-CIF board positions.
- They are the core decision-making members of the ICW-CIF.
Individual Members
Women who support the mission and values of ICW-CIF on a personal basis.
- Life Members
- Triennal Members,
- No voting rights.
- They may take part in certain programs or committees.
Honorary Members, Committee of Honour
Individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the ICW-CIF or to the advancement of women’s rights.
- This status is conferred by decision of the ICW-CIF General Assembly.
- Honorary members do not vote.
Patron Members
Individuals or organizations offering financial or material support to the ICW-CIF.
- They help sustain ICW-CIF programs.
- No voting rights.
